Add This!

AddThis.com offers a simple and convenient solution for all of the social bookmarking services blooming across the net. One click supplies you with an option to post to any bookmarking service and there is even an additional service for Feed buttons as well.

AddThis also provides a simple statistics report on which pages are being bookmarked the most. It’s a free service and the script will appear as a button enabling visitors an easy way to share your site with their chosen social bookmarking site(s).

From the bookmarking/feed data collected it looks like the top bookmarking services are: Favorites, Del.ic.io.us, Google and then Digg. The top feed readers are: Google, Yahoo, Bloglines and WindowsLive. Not much of a surprise there.

The service launched in October of last year and has already served over 2 million. If you are interested in adding the feature to your site, you can find the tool here. I added the tool to my blog yesterday afternoon, take a peek to the right…

I’ve tried the ‘ShareThis’ Plugin before but it seems to redirect the reader away from the website instead of opening another window like AddThis does. I’m not aware of a bookmarking tracking tool for ShareThis, a feature option with AddThis.

This tool does look better than sharethis, there’s a lot more options for people to bookmark with. I also like that it opens in a new window, which helps keep the traffic at your site.

    allright!! i’ll try this!

  8. But why then are you using sharethis also below your posts. Don’t you think it creates unnecessary clutter by using both the addthis and shrethis buttons.
