Odiogo Web 2.0
Odiogo is a Web 2.0 service that allows you to turn you blog entries into high quality podcasts that your readers can download onto their mp3 players or computers. It will download your latest articles RSS feed and convert it into sound clips. It’s completely free for publishers and offers a revenue sharing program for bloggers.
For those with websites, this is a really great feature. The podcasts are great, as they are near-human quality (demo here) as far as text to speech conversion and the podcast can be created automatically. You will be able to make money from embedded ads and no bandwidth is required from your side.
The ads will be audio spots included within your podcast content. Sorta like a radio commercial. I’m not sure how long or short the ads are and how frequent, or if you can choose them at this time.
Can you actually make money from it?
Advertising revenue is shared with select publishers who have a significant audience. If you have a sizable number of listeners who regularly download and listen to your podcast, you will be able to earn a share a the ad income generated. Of course, the amount you will earn is figured from the number of listeners and ads inserted into your podcasts.
For those looking to add additional income to their website or blog, this would be an excellent way of doing that while also bringing an extra service to your readers.
