The internet has become a great source to dig up information, find directions or movie times, network socially, find a job and network with other professionals. With the proliferation of information swarming the net, it’s no surprise that you will end up on the net too. So, how do you manage your reputation onto the net? And how do you start building a good reputation online?
LookupPage is an executive people “search engine” that allows you to setup a personal page including a personal photo and background. In a way, it does resemble sites like LinkedIn.com and Spock.com, although much simpler. While I would love to see a way to find related individuals (not just company related) to a personal page, I do see how it’s simplicity could work for many who need a “splash” page on the internet. The site works by signing up for the free website service and setting up your personal information. You are able to search the database of people without signing in…something I would recommend the site try doing instead to register even more users.
While the site is simple, Lookup Page gives a great opportunity for people to leverage their own public or internet personality/publicity/appearance and manage their reputation (very important!). The internet will not be going away….
